Erin is a mother of two young children, a holistic Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA Group Fitness Instructor and has a Masters in Exercise and Wellness. She is an overall health and wellness enthusiast. Erin graduated from University of Arizona in 2008 with a B.S. in Dietetics and did her 1-year dietetic internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital. During her internship, she attended Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) where she became certified as a Board Certified Health Counselor. Erin then went on to further her education at Arizona State University for her Masters in 2011. In 2017, Erin completed the Adult Weight Management Certificate of Training Program.
For 5 years, she worked in a clinical setting and specialized in medical nutrition therapy (MNT) which includes the assessment, intervention and treatment of an illness or disease. Erin has worked with multiple health conditions such as obesity and weight management, pre-diabetes, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, acute renal failure, IBS, gout, post surgery nutrition and vitamin deficiencies. These work experienced and learned skills helped Erin become well-rounded in helping others manage many health conditions. However, she simply knew the hospital setting was not her calling. Erin personally underwent a health transformation when she became a mother by creating balance between her primary and secondary foods. She maintained this balance after her second child and felt so empowered. Erin knew her niche was catering to mothers who experience difficulty maintaining a balance, want or need more energy or seek positive rejuvenation in their lives!
To answer this calling, in 2017 Erin kicked off her own Nutrition Counseling business with a focus on the nutritional challenges in motherhood and general health conditions. She personally understands the body transformation after giving birth, and overall struggle to find balance of healthy eating and lifestyle habits while taking care of a family. With practice, patience, balance and an innate understanding of the human body Erin created Balance and Rejuvenate Nutrition Counseling, a business specializing in helping mothers of all ages and designed for success.
Erin helps “Reset Mom Bods” with an integrative holistic approach in her nutrition counseling sessions by focusing on primary foods, secondary foods and mindful eating techniques. Primary food can be referred to as “food for the soul” and include: a career, spirituality, physical activity and relationships. Often when we aren’t nourishing our soul food(s) it affects our ability to have a healthy relationship with secondary or tangible food. If primary and secondary foods become imbalanced we tend to build an unhealthy relationship with food and nutrition becomes a downward spiral.
